About us
What we do
We’re an interaction design agency based in London. We make websites, apps, games and more. Every project’s different, but there’s one thing they all share: character.
That’s because we believe the unique traits and touches that define a human experience can also define an online one. Interacting with something on screen – whether it’s a laptop, tablet or mobile – isn’t static, like print on a page: it’s a journey with a beginning, middle and end.
We focus on how people experience an interface at every stage of that journey, and believe it’s the tiny details which make up the interactive experience that leave a lasting impression. They add charm, they create interest, and when they’re done well they just feel ‘right’.

Who we are
Hover Studio is a trading name of Chambers Judd Ltd.
Chambers Judd was founded in 2010 by childhood friends James Chambers
and Thomas Judd. James is now at the helm of Hover Studio, while Tom
looks after sister company and animation specialists Animade.
Meet the team
James Chambers
Director
James oversees the creative and technical direction of the studio, as well as editing our interactive design blog, Hover States. He holds an MA in Design Interactions from the Royal College of Art.
Tom Judd
Director
Tom has a background in Illustration and Character Design, and has an MA in animation from the Royal College of Art. He oversees character design and animation aspects of our work, and also heads up our animation production company Animade.
Mike Guppy
Junior Designer & Developer
Mike designs and develops for Hover Studio, and collects and curates for Hover States. He studied Graphic Design at Camberwell College of Arts.
Dan Powell
Junior Designer & Developer
Dan joined us as an intern and now designs and develops projects while contributing to Hover States. He also studied Graphic Design at Camberwell College of Arts.
Jen Judd
Account Manager & Producer
As well as managing clients and accounts, Jen looks after production, business development for Hover Studio and sister company Animade.
Work with us
We run 3 month internship programs throughout the year for people who are keen to learn about working with design and technology. We'll advertise these via Facebook and Twitter so keep an eye out there.
